Eric Lomas is an attorney and member in the bankruptcy and corporate reorganization practice group of Klenda Austerman.  He represents debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, banks, trustees and other interested parties in a wide variety of bankruptcy restructuring, liquidation and litigation. Eric is also an author and frequent speaker on bankruptcy topics.

Experienced in all aspects of bankruptcy representation, Eric provides clients with trusted guidance and a personal approach.  He offers forthright consultation to clients that are considering bankruptcy or are somehow affected by the bankruptcy filing of another person or entity.  From the first meeting, Eric seeks to understand the client’s perspective and goals.  He applies his knowledge and extensive experience in bankruptcy cases to collaborate with clients and develop effective strategies for representation.

Eric advises individuals in Chapter 7 liquidation and Chapter 13 personal reorganization bankruptcy cases, empowering his clients to utilize the bankruptcy process to obtain a fresh financial start.  He leverages his agricultural background to help family farmers reorganize their farming operations under Chapter 12, and he also represents individuals and businesses in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.  In addition, Eric assists clients with out-of-court non-bankruptcy workouts and pre-bankruptcy estate planning.

Bankruptcy law can be complex.  Eric breaks down the process, clearly explaining the pros and cons of bankruptcy options available.  During an often stressful and emotionally charged time, Eric helps his clients regain control of their financial lives.  Clients find comfort in Eric’s experience and his personable, approachable demeanor.  Once a plan is in place, Eric prepares the documentation, handles the filing and communicates with creditors and the trustee.

Away from the office, Eric enjoys family road trips with his wife and young daughter.  He enjoys studying the history of baseball, and he has been a fan of the Kansas City Royals since before George Brett hung up his cleats.  He returns to his production agriculture roots whenever time allows, helping tend to his family’s generations-old registered Angus cattle herd.
